We have many dogs in the shelter and in foster that are looking for their new home. Please come in and take a look. Adoption fees are only $100.00 and includes altering, microchip and up to date on vaccinations!
Most products for dogs cannot be used for cats (shampoo, flea treatments, conditioners and medicines) as they are poisonous. Please read labels and talk to your Veteranarian before you expose your cat to dog products. Some flea treatments used on a dog can be fatal when a cat comes in contact with it, so be aware of the dangers and take proper precautions.
Housebreaking a new puppy can be a challenging and time-consuming process. A puppy should be taken outside every two hours, up to six times a day, particularly after meals. Look for signs that your puppy has to go and don’t punish him for messing after it is done. If you don’t catch him in the act then he won’t understand why you are correcting him after an incident happens.
Most behavioral issues in cats and dogs are caused by boredom and a lack of expending their energy in a meaningful and productive manner. If you pet is acting up, excercise them! Play with a cat with an interactive toy that gets them moving around the house with running and jumping. Take your dog on a daily 60 min walk and let them explore the world. When we honor their natural instincts to explore (dogs) and to hunt prey (cats), they will honor us with love and good behavior.
